-- 10 days to Christmas Day --
-- It will be very different for us all this year --
Tuesday morning and this is the final stretch of path not replaced.
34 years ago I laid these slabs, one cold February weekend.
Our first call of the day was the skip lorry, just after 7am.
Next was Jeff the handyman who changed this.....
to this......
Mid morning Dan and Ollie arrived with a van full of slabs, sand and cement.
They quickly set to with pick and shovel, taking up the old slabs and laying a foundation for the new ones.
Old slabs gone,
and foundation laid.
Jeff the handyman has finished for the time being. He will return and put the skirting board on following the laying of the floor covering, plus he has to fit two door restrictors on the front doors of the conservatory.
Hopefully we see Pete the plumber tomorrow whose final job is to fit the radiator in the bedroom.
